The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance, and the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services are pleased that a tentative memorandum of agreement with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association has been ratified by members.
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to a strong health care system for the people of the province. A solid agreement with our physicians is a core part of that commitment. This agreement includes investments over $32 million per year in new funding to ensure improved physician services in Newfoundland and Labrador. Highlights of the agreement include Atlantic parity for physicians, a bonus program for remote sites and a provincial locum recruitment program.
The agreement will be released when it is signed by the two parties.
