Premier Furey Announces Support for Projects Tied to Come Home 2022

The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced funding for 60 projects totaling $664,425 under the Come Home 2022 Cultural Economic Development Program. More than $160,000 of the total amount funded will directly support Indigenous Governments and Organizations.

Projects approved under this fund will help rejuvenate the cultural sector and will also provide tremendous support for communities, artists, crafters and musicians. In the months to come, residents of the province can look forward to many special events, exhibits, performances and celebrations in areas such as music, theatre, film, dance, visual arts, literary arts, Indigenous and cultural festivals and community celebrations.

The application period for the Cultural Economic Development Program closed on January 31, 2022. Applicants will be notified by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation regarding the status of their applications.

In the coming weeks, the Provincial Government will be announcing more projects approved for funding under the Come Home 2022 Cultural Economic Development Program in other regions of the province.

All applicants will be notified by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation in the near future.
