The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will host an event tomorrow (Thursday, April 14) to congratulate Liam Hickey on winning a silver medal with Team Canada in para ice hockey at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing.

The event will take place in the East Block lobby of Confederation Building at 11:00 a.m.

Premier Furey will be joined by the Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities and the Honourable Sarah Stoodley, Minister of Digital Government and Service NL.

The event is by invite only and will be live streamed on Facebook. Media attending are asked to please RSVP to Khadija Rehma (khadijarehma@gov.nl.ca).

Attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain physical distancing.
