Winners of Annual Heritage Places Poster Contest Recognized During National Heritage Week

The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, is congratulating the winners of Heritage NL’s 2022 Heritage Places Poster Contest.

The overall winner is Ava Reid, a Grade 5 student at Woodland Elementary in Dildo.

Other school winners include:

  • Layla Radwan, a Grade 3 student at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Corner Brook;
  • Alexandra Campbell, a Grade 7 student at École Rocher-du-Nord in St. John’s; and,
  • Emma Funke, a Grade 11 student at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Corner Brook.

Other regional winners include:

  • Luke Crane, a Grade 4 student at Holy Redeemer Elementary in Spaniard’s Bay;
  • Logan Pike, a Grade 5 student at Riverside Elementary in Clarenville;
  • Olivia Torraville, a Grade 5 student at Gander Elementary in Gander;
  • Anna Hartley-Banks, a Grade 1 student at École C.C. Loughlin in Corner Brook; and,
  • Maria Barney, a Grade 6 student at Labrador Straits Academy in L’Anse au Loup.

The National Trust for Canada promotes the third Monday in February as Heritage Day and the week following as Heritage Week.

Heritage NL is a Crown agency of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador that helps promote an understanding of and an appreciation for the architectural heritage and intangible cultural heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador.
