Provincial Historic Sites Opening on May 21 with Free Regular Admission for Come Home 2022

All Provincial Historic Sites across Newfoundland and Labrador will offer free regular admission for the upcoming 2022 season as part of Come Home 2022 celebrations. The sites are scheduled to open on Saturday, May 21 and close on Friday, October 7.

$3.7 million has been invested in 2021 and 2022 for necessary upgrades at the sites that will help to ensure a higher-quality experience for local residents and travelers.

A new Provincial Historic Sites website is also launching today to provide useful information for those who are planning to visit the sites. The site contains engaging and in-depth content about each site and its history, enriching the online experience for virtual visitors, as well.

The Provincial Historic Sites in Newfoundland and Labrador are:

  • Beothuk Interpretation Centre
  • Bonavista Lighthouse
  • Colonial Building (reopening later this summer)
  • Commissariat House
  • Cupid’s Cove Plantation
  • Heart’s Content Cable Station
  • Hiscock House
  • Mercantile Premises
  • Mockbeggar Plantation
  • Newman Wine Vaults
  • Point Amour Lighthouse
  • Trinity Visitor Centre
