The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, are attending the World Hydrogen Summit and Exhibition in Rotterdam, Netherlands this week.

The World Hydrogen Summit 2023 will be held from May 9 to 11, 2023, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The summit has been held annually since 2020 to convene government representatives, hydrogen and energy stakeholders, service providers, and hydrogen end-users. The World Hydrogen Summit 2023 will be attended by 8,000 participants from over 100 countries, up from 4,000 virtual and in-person attendees in 2022.

The Newfoundland and Labrador delegation includes representatives from the Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, the Department of Environment and Climate Change and the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat. Also attending the conference are senior officials from major energy companies, national and regional governments, and companies which operate throughout the hydrogen development chain, including regulators, construction companies, energy buyers, utility companies, and shipping companies.
