Media Advisory: Premier Furey to Participate in the Kids Eat Smart Week Launch

The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will speak at the Kids Eat Smart Week launch on Tuesday, October 3.

The event will take place at East Point Elementary School, 14 Middleton Street, St. John’s beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Premier Furey will be joined by the Honourable Tom Osborne, Minister of Health and Community Services.

Kids Eat Smart supports the education, health and well-being of school age children in Newfoundland and Labrador through nutrition programs in Kids Eat Smart Clubs run by volunteers at schools and community centres. These Clubs are inclusive programs where every child is welcome and there is no cost to families. There are 275 Kids Eat Smart Clubs throughout Newfoundland and Labrador operating with the assistance of volunteers, school administrators, teachers and staff, with 40,000 meals served every school day.
