Media Advisory: Ministers Parsons and Davis to Participate in econext Conference

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, and the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, will participate in econext’s annual conference tomorrow (Thursday, October 26).

The event takes place at the Delta Hotel, 120 New Gower Street, St. John’s.

Minister Parsons will participate in a panel discussion beginning at 8:45 a.m. titled “Clean Energy – What’s Next?” which will focus on the next steps that various stakeholders are taking with respect to the advancement of this emerging industry. Moderated by AnnMarie Boudreau, CEO of the St. John’s Board of Trade the panel will also include Elizabeth Kidd, President of College of the North Atlantic, John Davis, General Manager of Qalipu Development Corporation, and Elisa Obermann, CEO of Marine Renewables Canada.

Minister Davis will participate in a panel discussion beginning at 10:30 a.m. titled “Achieving Net Zero by 2050”. Moderated by J. Alex Templeton, Partner with McInnes Cooper and econext Chair, the panel will also include Jennifer Williams, President and CEO, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, Natasha Reid, Director of Analytics and Insights, The Transition Accelerator, and Mike McCann, President and CEO, IOC.

Working on behalf of over 200 members to foster environmentally sustainable economic development, econext is a not-for-profit association of businesses that aims to accelerate clean growth in Newfoundland and Labrador.
