The Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, will bring remarks at the Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador 25th anniversary celebration and Team NL send-off today (Wednesday, May 17).

The event takes place at the Emera Innovation Exchange, 100 Signal Hill Road, St. John’s with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and remarks following at 4:00 p.m.

The event will include a send-off for Team NL 2023, a team of students and apprentices who have demonstrated excellence in skilled trade areas and will be travelling to compete at the Skills Canada National Competition in Winnipeg, Manitoba from May 25 to 26.

Skills Canada has a mission to encourage and support a coordinated Pan-Canadian approach to promoting skilled careers in trades and technologies to youth and their communities.
