Provincial Government Launching Community Collaboration Grants

July 17, 2023

As part of the new regionalization approach that will advance community sustainability and viability through collaboration and service sharing, the Provincial Government is today announcing the launch of Community Collaboration Grants.

In April 2023, the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs announced that as part of this new approach, $500,000 would be allocated for initiatives that help address service gaps and build capacity through a collaborative, shared services approach.

Grants will be a maximum of $100,000, with a provincial/municipal cost-share ratio of 90/10. The number of projects will be determined by the number of proposals received, the quality of those proposals, and funding availability.

Proposals will be open to municipalities, Inuit Community Governments and local service districts. At least three communities must collaborate on a proposal with the commitment of continued, long-term collaboration. Applications will be evaluated on sustainability, service sharing, community collaboration, replicability and scalability.

Applications for the community collaboration grants are available here. Applicants can also email specialassistancegrants@gov.nl.ca or call toll free 1-877-729-4393.

The deadline for receipt of applications is September 30, 2023.
