The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Botwood Flowers Hill Quarry                                                     (Reg. 2287)
Proponent: C & H Construction

The Proponent is proposing to develop and operate a two-hectare sand and gravel quarry located at Flowers Hill near Botwood, in central Newfoundland. Development of the undertaking would include the construction of an access road, clearing of vegetation and grubbing of soils. The purpose of the quarry is to provide material for local construction projects. The undertaking was registered on January 25, 2024; the deadline for public comment is March 1, 2024, and the minister’s decision is due by March 10, 2024.
