Today, Mr. Travis Wooley, Chief Electoral Officer (Acting) of Newfoundland and Labrador, issued an election writ to the Returning Officer for the District of Fogo Island-Cape Freels. The by-election will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024.

The following key dates apply to this election:

• Election Day – Monday, April 15. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
• Advance Poll – Monday, April 8. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
• Deadline for Candidate Nominations – Monday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m.

All times listed above are half an hour earlier in most of Labrador.
