The preliminary results from today’s by-election in the District of Fogo Island-Cape Freels are as follows:

There were 50 regular polls, 4 advance polls and Special Ballot voting in the by-election with 10,244 registered electors on the final revised list of electors.
The Official Addition of the Votes, a procedure whereby the vote tallies from by-election night are reviewed, will take place at the district Returning Office beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18th. At the conclusion of the Official Addition, the by-election results are considered official and a candidate is declared elected.
