The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, is sharing his condolences following the passing of broadcast legend Bob Cole.

The passing of the voice of Hockey Night in Canada is a loss not just for a nation of dedicated hockey fans, but it is especially poignant for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

He was an incredible man with an incredible voice. Hearing him call games played by our heroes allowed us to dream and to realize that we could achieve great heights in any endeavour and on any stage.

While his impact on the world of hockey was immense, he was something extra special for this province.”
