Media Advisory: Minister Dempster Participating in Event Commemorating National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2 Spirit People

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Labrador Affairs and Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation, is participating in an event in commemoration of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2 Spirit People.

Joining the Minister is Scott Reid, MHA for St. George’s-Humber.

The event is taking place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at the Mikwite’tm Garden, Church Street, Corner Brook.

The commemoration ceremony, organized by the Qalipu First Nation, will highlight and honour individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador and nationally who have been affected by the trauma associated with loss and violence. The public is invited to attend.
