“The way government manages its financial and operational responsibilities is critical, and my role is to examine how well government continues to manage that significant responsibility. I encourage government to take the necessary steps to remedy the issues I have outlined in the 2023 financial statement audits – especially given there were 91 outstanding issues across the government reporting entity, up from 30 in 2022 and some of which I have reported on previously – and ensure the best resolutions are found in a timely manner.”
