The Office of the Seniors’ Advocate is proud to launch the second annual Seniors’ Month social media campaign, continuing its commitment to challenge ageism and honour the experiences and contributions of older adults throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Building on the success of last year’s initiative, the 2025 campaign embraces the theme “Growing Bolder.” More than a clever play on words — it aligns powerfully with the ongoing goal of addressing ageism and celebrating the diverse, vibrant lives of seniors in the province.

From May 20 to June 17, 2025, the Office invites seniors aged 65 and older to take part by submitting a photo and short written response to be featured on the OSA’s social media platforms. Posts will highlight the individual’s name, community, age, and their answer to one of three reflective questions, helping to spotlight the bold truths of aging.

Applications open Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and can be accessed on the Office of the Seniors’ Advocate website: www.seniorsadvocatenl.ca.

Quote
“Growing older doesn’t mean stepping back — it means stepping into our boldest selves yet. This year’s ‘Growing Bolder’ campaign is about celebrating the strength, wisdom, and continued contributions of seniors in Newfoundland and Labrador. By sharing their stories, we’re not only challenging harmful ageist stereotypes — we’re also reminding the world that aging is something to be embraced, not feared.”
