The Honourable Chris Tibbs, Minister of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change, will deliver remarks at a community celebration tomorrow (Friday, July 17) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The event will take place at the Portugal Cove South Town Hall, 62 Harbour Road, Portugal Cove South, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Mistaken Point UNESCO World Heritage Site contains one of the world’s largest and oldest known collections of complex marine fossils, dating back 565 million years. The site attracts thousands of visitors from around the world each year.
