The Honourable Andrea Barbour, Minister of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.

Undertaking Registered:

Corner Brook Area Renewable Energy Project (Project Tuckamore)     (Reg. 2433)
Proponent: Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited

The proponent is proposing to construct a renewable energy project, known as Project Tuckamore, in the Corner Brook region of western Newfoundland. The project includes the development of an approximately 155 MW wind farm, consisting of up to 22 wind turbines and associated infrastructure; a transmission line connecting the wind farm to the existing substation in Massey Drive; upgrades to Deer Lake Power facilities; and forestry modernization activities. Construction activities will include road upgrades, site preparation, turbine installation, and the construction of electrical infrastructure.

The deadline for public comment is October 6, 2026, and the minister’s decision is due by October 16, 2026.
