The Provincial Government today announced that Julian Murdy, a Level II student at Holy Heart of Mary High School in St. John’s, is the 2026 provincial recipient of the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship.
Each year, a Level II student is selected to attend Pearson College, a United World College, in Victoria, British Columbia. The scholarship is approximately $34,000 annually and covers the cost of attending the college to complete the two-year program.
The Provincial Government contributes $34,000 toward the scholarship. The remainder is provided through corporate and community sponsors.
As a United World College student, Julian will learn how to make a difference through courage, leadership, and listening to others and will take part in experiences and community activities that help build confidence, kindness, and leadership skills.
Pearson College is dedicated to uniting cultures and countries around the world through education. It is a two-year pre-university school for students from more than 150 countries who live, study, and learn together pursuing the international baccalaureate and participating in an outdoor-oriented experiential education.
More information on the scholarship is available by visiting the Pearson College website.
