The Provincial Government recognizes the impact of the significant snowfall and ongoing storm conditions on communities in the greater St. John’s area. To support municipalities as they work to keep residents safe while they continue to clear roads, all Provincial Government buildings in the St. John’s metro area will be closed Monday, February 23, except for those employees who have been advised to come to work. This will allow important road clearing to continue without increasing traffic.

Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic have informed the Provincial Government that they will also close their St. John’s metro buildings tomorrow to support the cleanup.

The Provincial Government encourages residents to follow guidance from their municipalities, limit travel where possible, and exercise caution if travel is necessary. The Provincial Government remains in close contact with municipal leaders and emergency management partners as this vital clean up continues.
