The Honourable Lin Paddock, Minister of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development, will attend the first meeting of the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration since assuming the co-chair role. The meetings take place from June 22-23, 2026, in Ottawa, Ontario.

The forum brings together federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for immigration to advance shared priorities that support a flexible, timely and effective immigration system and strengthen the economic and social benefits of immigration across Canada.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s term as provincial territorial co-chair began on April 1, 2026, and will continue until March 31, 2029. As provincial-territorial co-chair, Newfoundland and Labrador supports collaboration and communication among provincial and territorial ministries responsible for immigration, co-leads the coordination of meetings and engagements of the forum and supports the work of its tables and working groups, including through strategic policy analysis related to immigration issues in Canada.
