The Honourable Joedy Wall, Minister of Social Supports and Well-Being and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, today announced that applications are open for the 2026-27 Accessible Vehicle Funding program.
The Provincial Government is investing $350,000 in Accessible Vehicle Funding to help reduce transportation barriers for persons with disabilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Accessible transportation can play an important role in supporting independence, inclusion, and participation in community life.
The program provides grants of up to $50,000 to eligible individuals and families to help offset the cost of modifying personal vehicles for accessibility. Eligible modifications may include the installation of hand controls, lifts, ramps and other accessibility features.
Accessible Vehicle Funding was established to help reduce costs associated with disability and increase access to accessible transportation options. The program supports individuals and families throughout the province in adapting personal vehicles to better meet their accessibility needs.
Guidelines and application forms for the 2026-27 Accessible Vehicle Funding program are available online. The deadline for applications is Monday, July 20.
