Newfoundland and Labrador residents can contribute to the province’s 10-Year Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy by sharing their experiences, perspectives and ideas through an online survey or written submission.

Input is also being gathered from community organizations, service providers, Indigenous Governments and Organizations, people with lived and living experience of poverty, and other partners.

To date, sessions have been held in Corner Brook, Stephenville, Rocky Harbour, Carbonear, Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander, Bonavista, Clarenville and Marystown, with additional sessions taking place throughout August and into the fall. Feedback from these sessions, along with the online survey and written submissions, will help ensure the strategy reflects diverse experiences, regional perspectives and the needs of communities throughout the province.

The online survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and is anonymous and voluntary. Residents can participate by visiting EngageNL. The online and written submissions will be accepted until August 31, 2026.

The 10-Year Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy is a key commitment of Budget 2026 and will help establish a long-term approach to reducing poverty, preventing it from occurring, and improving outcomes for individuals, families and communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
