Combined provincial, federal and municipal funding of more than $1.5 million will result in new water and sewer lines for the Town of Mary’s Harbour, enhancing the town’s municipal infrastructure system.

The project involves the installation of over 300 metres of new sewer and water lines along Lodge Bay Road, allowing the construction of six housing units that can connect to the municipal water system.

The Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund, cost-shared among federal, provincial and local governments, is aimed at existing municipal infrastructure needs as well as those associated with future housing developments. Through this agreement, Newfoundland and Labrador has been allocated $123.1 million from the Government of Canada to address municipal infrastructure projects that preserve existing capacity or increase reliability and access to drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste systems to support current and future populations.

This initiative delivers on key commitments in Budget 2026: Opportunity for All of Us, which includes better health care, lower taxes and safer communities. This represents a new vision for the province to improve the overall quality of life for residents by making everyday living more affordable, for all of us.
