The Provincial Government is taking another step toward expanding capacity at Pasadena Elementary School on the province’s west coast with the issuance of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for design consulting services.
The successful proponent will provide design and related professional services for the extension and renovations of Pasadena Elementary School, helping ensure the school can continue to meet the needs of students, staff and families in the community. Four additional classrooms, a new kitchen and lunchroom, along with accessible washrooms, will be included in the extension. Space for a pre-Kindergarten program will also be included in the design.
Investments in school infrastructure are essential to supporting student success and well-being. Modern, well-designed learning environments help create the conditions students need to learn, grow and reach their full potential, while also supporting educators in delivering high-quality programming.
The extension project reflects the Provincial Government’s ongoing commitment to providing students with safe, welcoming and effective learning spaces that support educational outcomes and respond to changing enrolment and community needs.
Budget 2026 includes $15.8 million in funding for multiple school infrastructure initiatives, including $4.2 million allocated in 2026-27 to the planning and expansion of Pasadena Elementary, Ecole Boreale in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and St. Teresa’s in St. John’s.
