The Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will participate in the 2019 Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games in Grand Falls-Windsor being held February 22-24 and March 1-3.
Tomorrow (Friday, February 22) Minister Hawkins will bring greetings at the opening ceremonies at the Windsor Pentecostal Church and School Complex, 97 King Street beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Minister Hawkins will be joined by the Honourable Sherry Gambin Walsh, Minister of Service NL and MHA for Placentia – St. Mary’s, Derek Bennett, MHA for Lewisporte – Twillingate, and Jerry Dean, MHA for Exploits.
On Sunday, February 24, Minister Hawkins will participate in the presentation of medals at the Gordon Pinsent Centre for the Arts, 3 Cromer Avenue, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The 2019 Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games will welcome more than 500 athletes and coaches who will participate in a variety of sports.
