The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
DECISION ON APPEAL:
Argentia Access Road Industrial Composting Facility (Reg. 1838)
Proponent: Metro Environmental Limited
On May 17, 2018, the minister announced that an environmental impact statement (EIS) is required for the project. The decision was appealed on July 4, 2018, in accordance with Section 107 of the Environmental Protection Act. The minister has considered the appeal and has determined that the original decision to require an EIS will remain in effect. UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED:
Bauline Line Quarry Expansion (Reg.1966)
Proponent: Chris Squires Enterprises Inc.
The project is released subject to the following condition:
The proponent must maintain a minimum 50 metre undisturbed vegetated buffer along all waterbodies and wetlands to protect sensitive riparian and aquatic species and their habitat.
