The following statement was given today in the House of Assembly by the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour:
Mr. Speaker, it is truly an honour to rise today in this Honourable House to congratulate graduates of our province’s public and private post-secondary education institutions.
Every graduate represents an extraordinary accomplishment, as well as a stronger, more educated workforce and that is key to growing our society, culture and economy.
Every year, thousands of graduates complete world-class programs at College of the North Atlantic and private training institutions. This year is a remarkable one for Memorial University as well, which granted its 100,000th degree. The value of post-secondary education for students, families, communities and our whole province is immeasurable.
Education is the passport to a brighter future. I invite all members of this Honourable House to join me in congratulating all 2019 post-secondary graduates.
Thank you.
