The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced that Blair White has been appointed as Chief Information Officer in the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
Mr. White was most recently the Assistant Deputy Minister of Digital Health with the Department of Health and Community Services, following several years with the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information.
Mr. White replaces Sean Dutton, who has been acting Chief Information Officer since January 19, 2023. Mr. Dutton retains his title as Deputy Minister of Digital Government and Service NL.
The appointment is effective as of February 27, 2023.

BACKGROUNDER
Biography of Blair White
Blair White started his career in various front-line Information Technology support positions before progressing to management and executive positions. After working for several years in the private sector, he joined the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI) in 2007 and progressed to serve in several leadership positions, finishing with three years at the executive level. Over his term with NLCHI, he led several large provincial digital health implementations and operational units. For the past year, Mr. White has been the Assistant Deputy Minister of Digital Health, in the Department of Health and Community Services. Mr. White is a member of the Digital Health Canada Board of Directors and is a member of the SportNL Board of Directors.
Mr. White holds two undergraduate degrees from St. Francis Xavier University in technology, and has completed the Mini MBA series from McGill University, as well as several industry-specific designations.
