Media Advisory: Minister Dempster to Recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, will participate in multiple events in recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Monday, December 3.

At 10:00 a.m., Minister Dempster will sign the proclamation to commemorate the annual observance. The event will be held at the office of the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities Newfoundland and Labrador, 460 Torbay Road, St. John’s.

At 11:00 a.m., Minister Dempster will bring greetings at a ceremony at Government House, 50 Military Road, St. John’s.

Since 1992, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been celebrated annually on December 3 around the world. The theme for this year’s International Day is Empowering Persons with Disabilities and Ensuring Inclusiveness and Equality.
