The Honourable Lloyd Parrott, Minister of Energy and Mines, today announced the appointment of Maureen Ryan, KC, as chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro board of directors, effective immediately.
Ms. Ryan is a senior commercial lawyer and replaces John Green, KC. We thank him for his contributions during his tenure. Ms. Ryan’s biography is included in the backgrounder below.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro board of directors oversees the province’s primary Crown utility corporation, guiding its strategic operations and energy planning. The board’s official mandate is established under the Hydro Corporation Act, 2024.

Maureen Ryan, KC, is a senior commercial lawyer.
