The Honourable Tony Wakeham, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Lela Evans, Minister of Labrador Affairs will attend the ‘Give Hope Wings’ Flying Expedition, in conjunction with the 40th anniversary celebrations for Hope Air.

The event takes place today, Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 160 RCAF Road, St. John’s, starting at 3:00 pm. Premier Wakeham is expected to speak at approximately 4:00 pm.

Supported by the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA 97), this event will bring together pilots, patients, and supporters of Hope Air, a national charity that provides free travel and accommodation for Canadians in financial need who must travel far from home for specialized medical care.
