The Honourable Andrea Barbour, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, today announced that the Provincial Government is continuing to invest over $1.2 million through the Provincial Physical Activity, Recreation and Sport Annual Funding Program to support Sport NL.
Through this, our Government is supporting Sport NL in delivering programs and services that benefit thousands of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians each year. It will support day-to-day operations, staffing, athlete, coach and official development, sport governance, and key programs such as KidSportNL and the National Championship Travel Subsidy. The investment will also help attract major amateur sporting events to the province and support the delivery of the annual Sport NL Summit on Nov. 14, 2026, in St. John’s.
The Provincial Physical Activity, Recreation and Sport Annual Funding Program supports key sport and recreation partners that collectively reach thousands of residents across the province through community programs, school-based activities, Indigenous sport and recreation initiatives, and support for Provincial Sport Organizations.
