“The upcoming Canada Investment Summit in Toronto is expected to be a strategic platform to connect global capital with major Canadian opportunities in infrastructure, energy, technology, critical minerals and other critical sectors. I fully support Prime Minister Carney’s investment attraction efforts, including the summit’s goal of attracting investment, creating jobs, and strengthening Canada’s long-term economic growth and competitiveness.

“While I am unable to attend the Investment Summit due to the special sitting of the House of Assembly, a Government of Newfoundland and Labrador official is attending on my behalf, and a team of representatives will be in the area for engagement with companies and investors. With a $50-plus-billion capital spend in Newfoundland and Labrador, the new Churchill Falls and Gull Island deal is the largest clean energy investment in North American history; it is critical it receives due debate in the House of Assembly.

“Newfoundland and Labrador continuously demonstrates world-class opportunities in energy, critical minerals, technology, natural resources and strategic infrastructure, positioning the province as a key contributor to Canada’s economic resilience, energy security and competitiveness. The strength of Newfoundland and Labrador continues to be profiled internationally, including projects like Bay du Nord and the Churchill projects. The province remains committed to working with governments, investors, industry partners, and Indigenous governments and organizations to advance projects that create opportunity and prosperity.”
