For 25 years, Thrive has supported youth and young adults facing challenges such as homelessness, poverty, mental health concerns and barriers to education and employment. The organization helps them to build more stable and independent lives in the face of these challenges.

MHA Riley Balsom, Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier and MHA for Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde, was pleased to join Thrive today on behalf of the Honourable Chris Tibbs, Minister of Social Supports and Well-Being, to mark the organization’s 25th Anniversary Celebration and Annual General Meeting.

The Provincial Government is a partner with Thrive, providing the organization with more than $425,000 annually to support programs and services that help vulnerable youth and young adults access housing, outreach and individualized supports. This includes the Street Reach program, which provides a mix of outreach and drop-in support, as well as the organization’s intensive support programs.

These investments support the Provincial Government’s commitment to helping people achieve stability and well-being through housing, homelessness prevention, and community-based supports.

As Thrive marks its 25th anniversary, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes the organization’s lasting contribution to improving outcomes for young people and strengthening community supports throughout the province.
