The Government Services Branch represents a collection of agencies which was formed to eliminate inefficiencies and duplication of services provided previously by a multitude of provincial government departments and agencies. Government’s objective in so doing was to provide a more streamlined “one-stop” approval process for the public and business community.
The Government Services Branch is organized into the following six divisions:
- Government Service Centres
- Motor Registration Division
- Office of the Queen’s Printer
- Vital Statistics Division
- Engineering and Inspections Division
- Program and Support Services Division
Responsibilities
The Government Services Branch processes various permits, licences, approvals and inspections. It provides consolidated points of entry in matters pertaining to public health and safety, highway safety, driver and vehicle registration, accessibility issues, vital statistics, controlled use of land and environmental issues.
