Obtaining a Record
A copy of your driving record (driver’s abstract) may be obtained in person, by mail or fax from any Motor Registration Office in the province.
To receive a copy of your driver record (abstract) you may complete this application. (50 KB)
Or submit the following information:
- Surname and given name(s)
- Driver’s licence number or date of birth
- Postal address or fax number (with area code) where you would like the driver’s abstract returned.
- Any person requesting a driver’s record for another individual must have written permission in order for the record to be processed.
Method of Payment
Cheque or money order made payable to the Newfoundland Exchequer
Visa or Master Card. Include card number, expiry date by month and year, authorization from the card holder to deduct fees from credit card.

You must pay in advance to receive copies of your driver record. Please note that we cannot accept requests via telephone.
If you apply for a Driver Record (Abstract) in person at the counter in any of our offices you will receive the record(abstract) the same day. If you apply by mail or fax, upon receipt of the request, please allow 3 business days for processing. Note: Processing times are approximate and may change depending on the volume of requests received.
