Where to see mapping of the Province
The Provincial Government makes the Provincial Land Use Atlas (LUA) available on its website. The Land Use Atlas is a collection of digital land use data displaying administrative boundaries, proposed and/or approved developments, and layers associated with land use policies, regulations, and legislation.
The Atlas was originally created as a tool to process Crown lands applications and an aide in resource planning to identify potential land use conflict. Included is: topographic base-mapping, aerial photography, imagery, Crown Lands titles/applications, municipal plans and land use/land use restriction data.
Where to get aerial photography
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture’s Aerial Photography program collects, processes and distributes aerial photography of Newfoundland and Labrador. The GIS and Mapping Division is the custodian of air photo film and photos that date back to the 1930s. More than 500,000 photos of the province have been taken from aircraft since then.
To obtain aerial photography, please visit GIS and Mapping NL : Aerial Photography (arcgis.com).
