Third Party Guidelines

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to receive requests from third parties for permission to use the brand signature on collateral, marketing, promotional materials and websites. While it would like to accommodate all requests, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is passionate about and committed to protecting and developing the brand identity of the Province of which the brand signature is the key visual identifier. Guidelines have therefore been developed to govern the licensing and use of the brand signature by third parties.

Graphic Standards Manual (Basic Elements)

As the provincial brand signature is a trademarked logo, it must always be used in accordance with the graphic standards. The graphic standards outline the proper usage of the brand signature in regards to colour, font style, size, placement, etc. If the standards are not adhered to, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to revoke its approval or permission to use the brand signature. The complete graphic standards are summarized in the Graphic Standards Manual which can be obtained by contacting the Communications and Public Engagement Branch of Executive Council, Marketing and Brand Management Division.

Logo Licencing Program

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has introduced a Logo Licencing Program aimed at suppliers/manufacturers wanting to produce clothing and other merchandise containing the Provincial brand logo for the purposes of resale to the general public. Interested companies must enter into a Logo Licencing Agreement with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. This agreement will grant permission to produce pre-approved items containing the trademarked Newfoundland and Labrador brand signature logo for the purposes of resale. Please note that while participation in this program is free of charge, not every application will be approved. Contact the Communications and Public Engagement Branch of Executive Council, Marketing and Brand Management Division to obtain a sample contract.
