The Social and Economic Policy Division formulates policy advice arising from ongoing review and analysis of all intergovernmental issues and priorities relating to social and economic policy matters.
Responsibilities
The Social and Economic Policy Division is responsible for intergovernmental matters related to:
- national defence
- education
- immigration, labour market programming and labour relations
- health
- social services
- women’s policy
- transportation, infrastructure and housing
- justice
- internal and international trade policy and promotion
- industry, economic development, innovation, and research and development
- emergency preparedness and search and rescue
- protocol and foreign affairs
- child, youth and family services policy
- crown lands
