Agricultural Industry Facilitators

Direct, consultative support is offered to farmers through the department’s Agriculture and Lands Branch by designated Agricultural Industry Facilitators. These staff members are available to liaise with prospective, new and existing farmers on all aspects of farming including agronomy, business, marketing, and animal husbandry.

Trained agrologists provide consultative and advisory support to primary and secondary producers in the province on a variety of agricultural sectors encompassing soil, crop and livestock development. Agri-business staff provide business management and development services through farm business planning and analysis. Marketing staff support the marketing efforts of farmers through market research, intelligence and development. Animal health staff provide farm animal veterinary services, as well as food safety consultative and laboratory services. Agriculture Development Officers serve as the first point-of-contact to guide farmers through existing provincial policies and support programs. Agricultural Industry Facilitators are located throughout the province in eight regional offices.
