Information for Hunting/Angling Guides

Non-residents wishing to hunt big game in Newfoundland and Labrador must apply for a big game licence through one of the province’s outfitting companies , and must be accompanied by a licensed guide, hired by the outfitting company, while hunting.

Non-residents wishing to angle in scheduled waters in the province must be accompanied by a licensed guide or by a direct relative who is a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Licensed guides are registered by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador following successful completion of a Firearm Safety/Hunter Education course, a boating safety course, and a valid first aid course; or, successful completion of a guide training program.

The annual fee for a guide licence is $15.00 plus HST following approval of the application:
