Stewardship Association of Municipalities (SAM)

Mission Statement: The Stewardship Association of Municipalities Inc. generally exists to work in partnership with the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture in Newfoundland and Labrador to secure, enhance and restore important wildlife habitat, namely wetlands, uplands, coastal areas and species at risk habitat generally found within municipal planning boundaries. As a network of communities who practice environmental stewardship across Newfoundland and Labrador the Stewardship Association of Municipalities contributes to maintaining and enhancing biodiversity in the Province.

The Stewardship Association of Municipalities was formed to help reinforce the municipalities’ commitment to wetland conservation. The association meets twice a year with the meetings being rotated between member communities. This allows for the opportunity to share experiences and to promote a sense of camaraderie between these stewards of our wetlands.
