A person may only buy a particular species of fish if their fish buyer’s licence or fish processing licence specifically authorizes them to purchase that species. A licensed fish buyer or processor may also purchase that species if they are acting under an agency agreement, buying the fish on behalf of a fish processor whose licence specifically authorizes that species. Agency agreements must be submitted to the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
