Fluoride in Till in Labrador – A Data Release
H. Campbell, R. Roldan and C. Finch
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, November, 2022
Summary
Anomalous fluoride results in glacial sediments (till) could provide assistance in exploring for pegmatites, fluorite deposits or rare-element deposits hosted in granite, given the association of fluoride with rare-elements in bedrock. Published here are the fluoride results of 2483 samples collected from the Alexis River, Central Mineral Belt, Letitia Lake, Strange Lake and Labrador Trough regions in Labrador. The results of this report will be discussed in a forth-coming publication, examining fluoride correlations with other elements, and the suitability of fluoride as a till-geochemical indicator in the aforementioned regions.
