    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, announced the appointment of David Billard, P.Eng., PMP, to the Muskrat Falls Project Oversight Committee. This committee is mandated to provide independent and transparent oversight on cost and schedule performance of the project.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, will bring greetings at the Hope in the City Breakfast tomorrow (Thursday, November 14). The event will take place at the Holiday Inn, 180 Portugal Cove Road, St. John's, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
    • Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, highlighted work undertaken by the Geological Survey, such as a recent project that shows findings of ruby and sapphire. The minister was speaking to participants of Mineral Resources Review - Eastern Canada's largest mineral industry conference and trade show.
    • Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, responded to the announcement that bids for exploration licenses offshore have been received as a result of the most recent calls for bids in the South Eastern Newfoundland Region and Jeanne d'Arc Regions, both located in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area. There was a cumulative total of $38.6 million in bids.     • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Bevan to the Board of Directors of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB). Ms. Bevan’s appointment is for a six-year term. The appointment was made through the merit-based appointment process established by the Independent Appointments Commission (IAC) Act.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources announced today, that the Natural Resources Building in St. John’s, located at 50 Elizabeth Avenue, now has two Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for use by both the visiting public and provincial government employees.
    • The Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minster of Natural Resources, and the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, will speak at the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association’s Newleef Green Economy and Clean Technology Conference this week. The conference is being held at the Holiday Inn, 180 Portugal Cove Road, St. John’s.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, will speak at the closing gala of the 2019 Atlantic Canada Showcase tomorrow (Tuesday, October 8). The gala is taking place at the St. John’s Convention Centre, 50 New Gower Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
    • Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, released the 2019 oil and gas resource assessment results which identify an additional 3 billion barrels of oil and 5.8 trillion cubic feet of gas potential offshore Newfoundland. In total, there is a combined resource potential of 52.2 billion barrels of oil and 199.6 trillion cubic feet of gas in just nine per cent of the province’s offshore. The assessment was conducted by Beicip-Franlab, a leading independent company in doing resource assessments globally.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, will speak at the St. John’s Board of Trade luncheon tomorrow (Thursday, September 19). The luncheon will take place in Salon A at the Delta Hotel St. John’s Conference Centre, 120 New Gower Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, participated this week in the annual SPE Offshore Europe conference held in Aberdeen, Scotland. This conference is one of Europe’s leading engineering and petroleum events and was attended by a Newfoundland and Labrador delegation, including members of the supply and service industry and all levels of government.
    • The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, is participating in the annual SPE Offshore Europe conference starting today (Tuesday, September 3) and running until September 6. The conference is being held at P&J Live, East Burn Road, Aberdeen, Scotland.
    • Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, hosted a meeting to discuss the protection of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador offshore environment. The meeting took place in St. John’s with representatives from the provincial Department of Natural Resources, the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) and Natural Resources Canada.
