ABOUT THE ECONOMICS AND STATISTICS BRANCH ... The Economics and Statistics Branch of the Department of Finance is comprised of the Newfoundland Statistics Agency and Economic Research and Analysis. |

Newfoundland Statistics Agency The Agency acts as the Provincial Government's main statistical consultant, responsible for compiling, developing and managing a wide range of economic, social and demographic data. As Statistics Canada's Statistical Focal Point in the Province, the Agency receives and maintains all of Statistics Canada's published data and information for public redistribution. |

Economic Research and Analysis Economic Research and Analysis acts as the Provincial Government's main economic consultant, responsible for objective, comprehensive, and up-to-date economic/technical analysis of emerging economic and demographic trends. In addition, the unit also provides Government with short, medium and long-term economic forecasts and policy and economic impact analysis. |
