February 12, 2020

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, today announced applications may now be submitted to the Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) Program.

Supported by $10.5 million in Labour Market Development Agreement funding for 2020-21, the JCP program supports projects that provide Newfoundlanders and Labradorians eligible for Employment Insurance with opportunities to gain valuable skills and experience. Approved projects must benefit the participants as well as their communities.

Employers are invited to apply online. Approvals will begin in mid-April and progress on a continuous basis subject to funding availability. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2020.

In 2019-20, over 1,500 individuals participated in the program through projects delivered by more than 270 organizations.
