The Provincial Government is recognizing Anti-Bullying Week (November 15-19) to increase awareness and concern regarding the societal issues of bullying. The theme of Anti-Bullying Week this year is “One Kind Word”.

To coincide with Anti-Bullying Week, the Department of Education is inviting applications for the 2021-22 Safe and Inclusive Schools Special Initiatives Grant. This grant supports school-based or regional initiatives that promote the development and nurturing of safe, caring and inclusive school environments. Information on the grant can be found here.

The deadline for applications is December 10, 2021, and grant recipients will be announced January 2022.

The Provincial Government supports schools in their implementation of the Safe and Caring Schools Policy and inclusive education practices.

Quote
“This week is an opportunity for students, educators and parents to get involved and work together on preventing bullying through education and awareness. School is a place where students and staff should feel fulfilled, engaged and accepted. When the school community shows leadership in this area, others follow.”
Honourable Tom Osborne
Minister of Education
